Excellence in Production - Navigating a Video Shoot During a Pandemic

Fluor + Novo Nordisk

Watts partnered with Fluor to create a video that memorializes the Novo Nordisk life sciences project in Clayton, NC by showcasing the complexities that brought it to fruition. Key project leaders reflect on what made the project a success and how proud their collective team is to have had a hand in the creation of a production facility that will serve the global diabetes community and leave a lasting legacy on the industry.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE | OPPORTUNITY

Novo Nordisk chose Fluor to help them realize their dream of creating the largest pharmaceutical installation in the life sciences industry. The alignment of their business cultures fostered collaboration and trust, allowing them to push the boundaries despite the challenges that go along with mega projects.

CREATIVE CHALLENGE

The sheer scale of mega-project sites coupled with the number of required interviews can be daunting. Thankfully we’ve got scores of these under our belt, though going on location during a global pandemic adds a layer of complexity. Luckily for us, the facility followed strict COVID protocols which allowed us safe access as well as creative freedom.

OUR SOLUTION | CREATIVE PROCESS

Pre-production is always critical, especially when you can’t scout the location in advance and the project site is the size of a small town. Knowing that we came especially prepared and embraced the fact that long production days would be required to achieve success. To complement the look of a biopharma manufacturing facility, we chose clean, light compositions. A rich music track bolsters the story arc and provides additional interest.
